Prenatal yoga classes aim to prepare the body for labor with gentle stretching and breath work all while maintaining muscle tone. Each class aims to provide the expectant mother with: a time to check-in with herself; a series of postures which will vary from class to class; as well as a relaxation period which allows her to calm her thoughts, listen to her body, and to forge a deeper bond between mother and unborn child.
Strengthens the pelvic floor for a more comfortable pregnancy and birthing experience
Opens the hips + increases flexibility in the group of muscles surrounding the pelvis for an easier birth
Helps alleviate lower back pain associated with the shift in gravity that arises with a growing belly
Relieves symptoms of pregnancy such as nausea, carpal tunnel syndrome, swollen feet, & headaches
Develops healthy breathing techniques to reduce stress & anxiety, improve sleep, (often used along with imagery during childbirth)
"Mommy and Me" classes aim to gently nurture and slowly strengthen the body after childbirth. The primary focus is the reintegration of organs and muscles that have been stretched. These classes are performed with your child and aim to awaken muscles in your body and motor skills in your baby's body: they also provide a time and space to connect with your baby in a fun and interactive setting. If you are a new mommy please wait at least six weeks after giving birth to begin classes. We also request that you specify the conditions of your birth (natural, cesarean, first child or other), and any other relevant details when contacting us for an appointment.
Restrengthens the pelvic floor after childbirth to avoid urinary incontinence
Tones & stretches the upper back and shoulders, to prevent pain which may come from breastfeeding, repeatedly picking up your baby, or other baby associated heavy lifting (car seats, etc)
Helps realign and strengthen spinal integrity which may be reduced or loosened for up to 8 months after giving birth due to the hormone: relaxin

Helps with postpartum depression

Because each pregnancy and birth is different, pre and post natal classes are taught exclusively on a one-to-one basis; this allows for a more personalised experience. Postnatal classes may take place with or without your baby, please specify which you prefer when contacting us. Classes are taught in French or in English.
